Over the Georges River
Every trip north out of the Shire crosses the Georges River, so the bridges set the timing. The Princes Highway uses Tom Uglys Bridge and Taren Point Road uses the Captain Cook Bridge, and either one can back up at peak. We pick between them on the day, with the Kingsway and Rocky Point Road covering the rest.
Getting home late
The drive back from the city is a long one late at night, which is why a chauffeur suits a theatre show or a long dinner in town. It works the other way too: Cronulla and the bays around Sylvania Waters are worth the trip for guests staying elsewhere in Sydney. In both cases the car stays with you for the evening.
